Symponia - The Green Paper - Questions
The Green Paper brings to the fore certain key questions:
- Can the country really create a phoenix from ashes of the current care system?
- Will it be possible to stop means-testing all together?
- Are the proposals far reaching enough, so far no mention has been made of the cost and/or funding of accommodation charges and hotel type services?
- Can Andy Burnham follow the glory of his much celebrated 1948 predecessor, Nye Bevan?
- Is the significant cost of care a price we all have to shoulder as a result of better hygiene, diet and increasing longevity?
- Can The National Care Service really provide a levelled-out playing field for everyone, or will any Government realise that there just isn’t the money to keep the goals open at both ends?
